We'll see what the plan really looks like after the Repubs and Dems are done with it. The Bush plan on the surface may be alright, but there are too many hands that get into the 'mix' before it is finished...

The example below is, IMO, one of the reasons that there are problems in Mexico in the first place...Their civilization has been there for CENTURIES longer than our relatively short nearly 300 years......One just has to ask where the Mexicans have been in the last 1000 years...WHY don't they have a thriving economy, instead of begging for money from another much younger country......

Fuentes said the Mexican government should take a pragmatic, realistic approach to Bush's proposals. She said Mexican officials should insist that the United States also contribute development money to Mexico to help alleviate the poverty and joblessness that leads to mass illegal immigration.
