Hi Rat,

As Tony Bennet and friends sing Xmas songs in the background courteous of PBS TV. I will continue my thoughts on the MCD aka Mad Consumer Disease.

We, the collective We of North American society have been taught, brainwashed, whatever, to EXPECT cheap, soft, blemish free-food. We "deserve" <g> it.. Fruit and Vegetables with no imperfections, tender cuts of beef, cheap chicken, etc. all at rock bottom prices..(BTW, The last I heard, We Americans spend the smallest portion of our income, about 5% on Food, by far the LOWEST in the world). How many times has anyone here, have themselves or seen people picking through apples, vegies, etc at the local supermarket tossing those aside with least harmless blemish and then standing in the checkout line bitching about the cost of food. Since that's what we want,

It is so delivered to us by hormones, food supplements, pesticides, all the "cides".. So who do we blame when something like MCD springs up..To make a long story short, the wrong ones of course, We should blame OURSELVES .. We should have expected it.. So what else is out there now we are not aware of. I don't know..

But one thing I do know.. The "cides and supplements" are cooking up something we don't want in our "cooking".

But loser to home on this issue and tissues.. My brother said last night he thinks all meat eaters out there should be fairly safe by sticking to good cuts of pure muscle tissue AND STAY away from any ground beef.. Although they are not suppose to, He thinks the packers are still grinding up the "bad stuff", spinal, nerve endings, maybe even parts of the head and throwing it in..

Makes those hamburgers cheaper. And isn't that, what WE ALL want.. <g>..

And a Merry Christmas to you Rat and ALL here ..

c

P.S. IMHO eating "rats" is probably healthier than having a triple decker with quadruple cheese.. :)
