Iraq will be the "front line" in the war against anyone who would cut us off from our oil. I expect a major military presence in Iraq to continue into the forseeable future. Other than in Saudi Arabia, which limits our actions from there, the next largest permanent base is in Diego Garcia, way out in the Indian Ocean. Iraq is our beach head for the resource wars of the 21st century. We'll turn it into a miserable, dependant country, as we rob it of it's oil wealth while continuously battling freedom fighters from within and insurgents from without.
