"with a helper holding the steel for starting"!!! What kinda miners do you hang with? Down here both of you and your company would be charged by the federal MSHA inspector for that kind of practice. I suspect that the Ontario Min of Labour rep would do the same! Yes the Min. of Labour would charge for sure but not only that they'd confiscate the jackleg LOL and put it in a museum. They're getting very rare but drilling pin holes and such I guess. Probably still used in small gold mines and such but I wouldn't know. In those days...... God I hated drilling lifters with my height but I loved doin back holes. God, I thought long toms were great when they came along but 1 1/2" three boom electric hydraulic jumbos....gone to heaven :o). Cheers C
