I read the IRS is requiring the new ETF/CEF in the US is going to be considered as a collectable asset.

I wonder how the folks in the US that took profits in the Canadian CEF "CEF" identified these profits on their previous tax forms as capital gains from a collectable asset. This is a mess!!!!!!!!!!

I do believe if one wants to collect gold, silver or other precious metals storing it outside the US financial system is the way to go.
