Atheism is not passive or harmonizing it is reactive. It IS passive. It is a-theism. It is not un-theism or anti-theism or counter-theism or whatever. Think about the words, moral, immoral, and amoral. The prefix is "a." "Amoral" is outside the sphere of morality, not against morality. What people do with their lives, their philosophies, their ethics, their lifestyles can vary considerably. Atheism only means that they don't attend religious services and pray. But they can play baseball or eat radishes to the same extent as a theist, no more or less. Whatever they do, it's not caused by their atheism although it may be enabled by it.
