The Pakistanis are going to have to deal with the islamists, arent they and they are going to have to decisively defeat them.

The problem with that is that an awful lot of "the Pakistanis" ARE "the Islamists". A lot of them are well placed in the military and the ISI. It's not just a matter of expecting one group to "decisively defeat" the other.

It's not a good situation, not at all, and our ability to influence it is very limited.
