Is there a statute of limitations on international crimes? Shouldn't there be? Or shall every square foot taken from someone else at gunpoint be forever after a just cause for war?

You tell us you're American. Your forebears benefited from that theft. Are you buying land and giving it to native Americans in restitution?

Silly questions, no better than: Is globalization good or bad...and your questions are no where even close to the point of the discussion which was what constitutes globalization.

Are the Asians good? D**n right. That's why we've imported so many into Silicon Valley.Including Indians, Lizzie Tudor's pet peeve.

I DO notice that NONE of the countries we were previously discussing outrank the US. Remember "Europe"?

I seem to recall that we were discussing all sorts of countries, including Asian countries. I specifically recall raising the example of Intel having design centers in Asia and asking if Intel gets a patent that was generated in Asia, is that counted as a US patent or an Asian patent for the purposes of assessing innovation. You declined to answer that question. [I think the specific country I cited was Taiwan, but no where did we attempt to list all countries.]

But we can look at the adjacent countries to the US if you wish....[per capita] South Korea - 779 vs. the US - 289. The US produces 37% of the patents that SK does. That's a rather significant difference.

US - 289 vs. Sweden - 271. Sweden produces 94% as many patents as the US does. I wouldn't leap up and down over a 6% differential. But perhaps you would.
