Read "Dependent on DC", by Twight. That goes into chapter and verse how gov't is doing exactly that already, bit by bit. The idea is to engage the middle class, since the bottom end is already being made helpless and dependent. The way to do that is through unfair trade practices, illegal immigrant labor and subjugation through predatory medical legislation, among other things. This degrades the middle class and forces the fringes into servitude, and the rest into quiet compliance, waiting in front of their tv for further instructions.
