Dell becoming another IOM? I doubt that will happen, but who knows for sure? One thing seems certain, Dell is shifting away from the retail customer and moving towards the enterprise customers. Dell is increasing their offering of "off the shelf" products; ie, TV's, MP3 players, etc. They are becoming a Web based Best Buy.

Do you know that you can buy Dell computers from Costco? Not in the stores, but on Costco's web-site. It would not surprise me to see Dell start selling directly in the stores. This in itself is not bad, but they can, and are, isolating themselves from the customer via the use of the internet and phone for all customer communications.
And, it is the phone, internet support systems that are breaking down. Try calling them and see what happens. It's an interesting experience.
