Nadine's references to a direct Iraqi threat are many and varied --

Then it should be easy for your to search for and present an example, right?

BTW, your increasingly flexible use of the distinction between direct and indirect is rendering its meaning vacuous.

The world is not black and white GST.. That's where the concept of "graduated response" was initiated, so we could gradually ramp up our response options based upon the level of threat we faced.

And that's why this country didn't go to war when its embassies were blown up in Africa, or when the USS Cole was attacked in Yemen..

Thus, were it discovered that Iraq's intelligence agencies directly involved in the planning and operational support of any terrorist attack against the US or its bases/territories, that would equate to a direct threat.

But if Iraq was involved in general training and logistical support to Al-Qaeda that could NOT be specifically tied to an attack on the US, that would be considered an indirect threat.

Sorry the world can't be more simplistic for you.. But that's why we have lawyers, as well as analysts.. If only to prevent people like you from posting neanderthalic instincts as a form of intellectualism.
