I have looked at sequences from over 150 SARS CoV isolates. They were not man made. How could you be sure? Not that I don't doubt you. Not that I actually endorse the view that SARS is a PNAC requested "genome specific bio agent". But rather I guess I'm asking a basic question about the nature of gene splicing. I.e. can we always tell when a gene is naturally occurring vis a vis one that has been artificially altered and/or assembled by scientists? Do you have government clearances suitable to get you into the most classified research areas at CDC or AMRIID or their contractors in bigPharma? 1) I don't have clearance. 2) The Bushies are engaged in the most reprehensible secrecy campaign of any American administration, ever. 3) I do have knowledge that policy makers desire super-bugs. When I add these three items together, I see a huge red flag for a democracy.
