There was no additional context, just a split screen with the two of them talking matter of factly. Thanks for the link. That was pretty much what I expected. Diane's "he-saids" are even more prominent when you hear it than when you read it. The pauses emphasized them. The hesitation gave an incredulous tone to her report. I didn't expect that. I think she handled the distancing just right. Any more would have been unprofessional, IMO.
