To get a large nation to cry uncle requires that you kill more of them than it is possible for a blitzkrieg to do.

That was certainly not true for Europe in the 1940s.

The Nazis walked into Paris, drank confiscated cognac by day and slept with Frenchmen's wives and daughters by night and the French would not fight.
The same tactic was repeated in different countries over and over.

I do agree with your statement that the best war results come when a population is pounded into submission.

In this war however, I do not believe we have to conquer each and every country perpetrating terrorism. Many of the countries involved have little to no outside support, they may take the Libyan lead and crumble to our wishes.

And still that may not be enough. We may be yet forced to totally take an entire population off the map.

I hope it does not happen. I also hope we have the resolve to do it if necessary.
