Here unfortunately folks use AllSeason (read compromise) tires too often as they are standard equipment typically.. and of course 3 year old all season tires are not terribly suited to snow which so many Torontonians seem remarkably surprised to see every winter LOL...

Good snow tires should be mandatory here.. mine are on separate rims... I can change both my vehicles my self in about an hour and a bit so I can afford myself the luxury of waiting for the first real snow.. no re-balancing required.. proper rotation assured etc etc... even for those not so incline to changing wheels themselves it's still a time and money saver.. Unfortunately a good driver is also of paramount importance but that is another story ... ;o) When we get a big snow I'll invent a reason to go out for a good drive if I have to ;o)
