Just getting back to some email.RR, if you mean some of the threads that think the $ is crashing and the world is coming to an end, I think they're just bear market guys who haven't adjusted to the fact that the bear market is probably over. My comments and observations went beyond just that. My observation was broader. More along the lines of whiners and losers in life in general. They must sit in front of their computer all day in misery. They probably have no positive element in their life much less in striving to get better and be constructive. OTM options can vaporize before you blink. Yep! But, oh do they pay off if ya hit a runner! Nonetheless, I bought some Jan 05 OTM options on rambus. Really cheap. ITs a pure gamble and just a kind of throwaway. I just felt like doing it, lol. Hey, I think of it as speculation. Sometimes it is worth a try! I can't remember the last time I did that, set a limit order on OTM options and waited for it to come to me. I remember the qcom days when that reckless strategy worked like a charm. Anyway, I only dipped a toe in, so it doesn't matter either way really, it's just for fun. That got a lot of people rich, too. But I agree, it's high risk. I also opened an account, finally, at INteractive Brokers. I've heard pros/cons about IB. Keep us posted. I heard it was difficult to learn to navigate, some problems with executions, but prices very reasonable. .....they allow all kinds of trading including futures and allow you to hold your cash account in various currencies. Thus for instance you could hold it in Euros, taking advantage of the current (intentional?) slide of the $...etc. Interesting. Trading currencies is something I use to do much more often many years ago. With the dollar action, that could have been a good way to add a little profit to the pot. Jill, I hope 2004 will be a super year for you! Make it happen. RR
