ann-

i didn't conclude that YOU were campaigning for or
against anyone. i used the pronoun "you" as a collective
"you" when i probably should have used the less personal,
"one", i.e., "if ONE wantS to have success campaigning
against dean..."

only the first sentence of my post was addressed to
you personally. the rest was just my own statement of
philosophy and opinion addressed to any reader of the
thread. i'm sorry if that was unclear - thanks for
pointing out my ambiguous use of the pronoun. i thought
it would be understood when i started the second paragraph
with the phrase, "one thing for people to consider..."

couldn't you tell when i broke eye contact with you
and started looking around the thread at others?
<just kidding>

but regardless of my poor communication... we still have
differing opinions about what is personally important in
the presidential race. i think howard is already about as
far right as he can go without starting to offend the
democratic wing of the democratic party.

i think he's wise to offer citizens a participatory
role in democracy with the bottom-up ownership model
and bring us into the information-sharing, idea-
generating, decision-making process so people from
the left, right and center can voice their concerns
and help each other guide legislators to set policy
born of compromise and balance among us all.

i believe it's more important than chiseling his own
personal stances in stone at some place that either he
or you decides is "the middle of the road".

personally, i don't want another "ruler" of the country
like king george who sets all the rules according to
his own personal, patriarchal moral code. i'd much prefer
a facilitator with an optimistic "vision" who trusts and
encourages us all to take personal responsibility for the
growth and evolution of america and it's role in supporting
and inspiring action that promotes the well being of
humanity and all of nature.

(and if i can't have that... i'll take ANYBODY BUT BUSH.)

:-)
