They also are seeking to determine whether the strain of BSE, a disease caused by a misshapen protein, is the same as the one that struck Europe in the 1980s and 1990s. already they're trying to create different *strains* of the disease - a ruse to confuse. What a bunch of hogwash or - in this case - cow dung. Particularly dangerous to eat is ground beef and the miniscule molecules get spread ALL OVER, everywhere. Oh, it's all dangerous. Hello vegetarianism, goodbye beef...However, I did learn that McDonald's restaurants don't use tainted USA beef. So if one must eat a burger, go to McDonalds - I do not now, nor have I ever owned any stock in that company.

Here's someone whose credibility is shot - Dr. Ron DeHaven, chief veterinarian for USDA, said Sunday that science has shown certain meat cuts are fairly safe from infection. Among those are whole cuts without bones, such as beef steaks, roast, liver, and ground beef from labeled cuts like chuck or round.

and you can disbelieve this person: "The recalled meat represents essentially zero risk to consumers," said Petersen, of the USDA's food safety agency. USDA guaranteed ground beef has caused numerous cases of - millions - e coli illness.
