Ann, a winning issue is the terrorism issue. It is not a question of whether Saddam would be in power or not if Dean was President as Senator Lieberman claims. The issue whether Osama would have been in a position to come back with a vengeance as he has recently done. When Bush had Osama on the run in Afghanistan, he should have persevered in that direction, Chased Mullah Omar and Osama and Ayman right into Pakistan if that was needed. Instead he gave up and turned his attention to where he should not have. It was a strategy failure to go after Saddam with OSama on the loose and fleeing. So I do not buy Bush's theory that the war on terrorism is a long war. One need only turn to the war against terrorist Abu Sayyaf in the Phillipines.

Now that is what I call winning the war on terrorism. If the Phillipine President can achieve that then why is it that Bush with all that might of the military and the intelligence has not even made a dent in the war against Al Qaeda? And let us not talk about the liberals. Instead let us keep our focus on the realists. Let us go and show some progress on the war against terrorism and not tell the world that we have captured Saddam and that is what we have to show for our success in that area. The Iraqi war is a misguided war against terrorism. If Saddam terrorized his citizens that is their business. It is Al Qaeda that has declared war on the US. And that is who the enemy is.
