Karen,
The economy on the supply side was soft enough and weak enough to warrant a radical policy. Bush and Greenspan have engineered the recovery. Jobs are still a problem but my expectation is that jobs too will improve markedly by midyear. 2004 is the year to get a handle on the deficit. Somewhere in 2006 the debt will be addressed as it was under clinton. What folks fail to understand is that reaganism actually was still in effect under clinton as debt was sopped up like gravy during the 90s. This is hard for ev dirksen conservatives to understand. And goldwater was not a supply sider--he was a fiscal conservative period. mike
