So, that Tolkien dude is a capitalist pig as well as a religious fanatic and racist? ;-)

PS: You are correct about the ending. I was just a little disappointed they left out Tolkien's last twist - Saruman's mischief and the state of the Shire upon the Hobbits' return - but the movie was already 3:20 long and that part seemed rather extraneous even in the book.
