It seems to me that some people on this thread are actively admitting and promoting the separation of Church and State--"prescribing the limits of authoritative foundations and governmental control". They are hardly being evasive about such a belief! <g>

Government is enjoined not to interfere in religious worship, nor to promote any one religion at the expense of any other. Government is challenged to have no opinion on religion...and to have no interest in it, per se.

I openly support the Government in her efforts to honour Basic Rights and Freedoms. Evasive?? I hardly think so! :-)

Surely you are not trying to claim that not spending public funds on that manger scene is equivalent to spending them? If the atheists insisted on erecting a large "Religion is the opiate of the masses" sign at city hall entrance, that is equivalent and I would agree, but simply insisting the gov't do nothing either way is neutrality.
