Hier waren die Umsätze in den ersten drei Dezember-Wochen 8 % niedriger als vor einem Jahr, wie eine Branchenbefragung der BBE Köln ergab. Karstadts Textilfilialist Wehmeyer beispielsweise reduzierte seine komplette Herbst- und Winterware Mitte Dezember um 30 %. Schon nach dem dritten Adventswochenende stuften die Analysten der Hypo-Vereinsbank die Aktie von Karstadt-Quelle auf „underperform“ herunter. „Wir liegen unter Vorjahr“, berichtet auch Klaus Jost, Vorstand bei Deutschlands größtem Sporthändler Intersport, „aber wir schlagen uns im Vergleich zu anderen noch beachtlich.“
