"So - my question is - do I really need the ZA firewall?" my only thought is will the other programs stop a possible malicious program from accessing the internet? za will. za will not allow the access unless you ok it.

I use the free version of ZA an have no problems with QT. I wonder if the cookie Controls and add/pop up blocking is causing the slowdown. Can you turn off the extra features and see what happens if you just have the firewall? If that works then just and one of the other features and see what happens. Perhaps you will be able to isolate the cause of the slowdown.

Given a choice of running datek streamer or zonealarm...to me, hands down...find a new streamer. I recommend QuoteTracker. Why wait until next year.
