I have no idea how you leaped to that from anything I said.
OK. I will plead guilty to projection of previous experiences with believers onto you.

I spent months arguing that moral ideals are abstract, perfect, and exist in eternity.
Or maybe not. That amounts to the above. You assume the existence of a higher power as the source of morality. THAT is the bone of contention. I hold moral codes are rationally derivable by an intelligent species and that is exactly what happened. The results were wrapped in superstition to force the less intelligent to comply.

What evidence have you of this higher power? Musty old books? Mystical experiences? How do you know those were not simply misfiring neurons? Psychotics do believe their delusions.

I am a believer.
Fine. You may believe as you choose. You may not use governmental force to compel me to comply with the results of your belief.

Huh???
If morality is dependent on religion and we are not religious, then it is unlikely we would stay on as moral path, right?

"I believe that messengers have been chosen by God to bring the truth about moral direction to the rest of us"

WHY do you believe that?
