New Year Closure Of Las Vegas Airspace Sought -NBC 19:54 EST Monday, December 29, 2003 NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- Officials in Nevada have asked the Federal Aviation Administration to order the closure of the airspace over the Las Vegas hotel and casino strip to private planes over the New Year's holiday, to thwart any possible terrorist attack using planes, NBC News reported Monday.
