Right-o, that's called Congressional pork and it happens on all sides of every aisle. It's the problem of incumbency as well as the inability of all of us to kick the bums out and get new ones in. Iraq is the latest example of corporate welfare with built-in profit and lack of competition and oversight. Then we complain about not having enough to cover healthcare? Hey if Saddam really did squirrel away $40b overseas, that means we can get 1/2 of our $87 billion back. How much do you want to bet that the American taxpayer never sees a penny of that $40b?
