We are going to start having "Deanisms" just as we have "Bushisms". You and Dean are both correct - Dean can't "deliver" his supporters' votes to another candidate should he not be nominated - but the way it came out made him sound like a kid on the playground threatening to take his ball and go home if he's not make Captain of the team, even if that's not what he meant.

Many of the contributors from the internet are voters who are against the war and perhaps new voters. I doubt some portion will come to the polls to vote for other than DEAN

The Dean crowd reminds me of the Gene McCarthy campaign. Remember the "Get clean for Gene" warcry? I think Dean is confusing noise with numbers. His crowd is very loud, but in terms of overall size, not decisive.
