I would submit that the objectives mentioned – ben Laden, Airlines, and the occupation of Iraq tend to be tactical rather than strategic objectives. The STRATEGIC objective was if memory serves to paraphrase, was to eliminate terrorists and those who support terrorism.

As for having ben Laden dead – well some folks might conclude the war was over – the Streisands and those of similar ilk would begin civil clamor to bring the troops right now and before the battle was over. Now that would not be a sound STRATEGIC move for those praying for the survival of America at least.

Troops and supplies lines in Iraq are a huge logistic advantage for obvious reasons; that plays to our military strength. Death of any US combatant is always regrettable but should be expected.
