Trend score is a composite indicator. It normally oscillates between +100 and -100, and isn't very useful until it move above -80 or 0 from below and conversely, meaning like the stochastics it can get stuck at the extremes for awhile before a correction occurs.

Price phase is a trend-following indicator, which is calculated as the difference between the 12- and 49-day moving averages. It's similar to the MACD histogram, and used to confirm a change in trend when the values change direction. It's used to validate whether the price change of the Dow is confirming the the sell signals in the stocks. The sell signals are supposed to act as leading indicators, and leading indicators are prone to giving failed signals without some filter.
