but the deficit goes down right? It has to, as a direct cause and effect of the improving economy.

I know your answer, you and I both know the deficit will INCREASE next year, thanks to Bush mismanagement and the fact that the economic foundation is bad.

It never has been balanced, at least in my history. Debt riding over a "balanced budget". In affect "off balance sheet debt".

Much of the illusion of the "balanced budget" Clinton supposed enjoyed, with "debt reduction" was never a reality, but inflated projections made during the bubble. As we see they weren't real.
