The problem I see is that misdeeds committed against RMBS by the Dramari was in 1990's and the SDRAM price fixing MU is coping a plea to was in 2001 and 2002 after RDRAM was considered dead and buried.

Also, scope of Justice Dept investigations is going to be limited to SDRAM if Intel, DELL & Samsung files briefs with the court. Micron is going to scream until their blue in their faces to keep investigation away from talking about RDRAM, treble damages etc.

As only US memory manufacturer, MU going to get kid gloves treatment by Justice Dept to turn states evidence on their foreign competitors. MU would do anything to eliminate or cripple a competitor. They have tried to do that many times before. Just as recently as 2001, MU led the industry in dumping of SDRAM memory via selling below their cost post Y2K to try to force Hynix out of business until Citigroup came through with loans to HYnix preventing their bankruptcy. Then MU had the gall to go to court claiming Hynix was dumping below cost and won 100% tarriffs on Hynix memory. Unbelivable.

Pity the foreign DRAM manufacturers as MU gets amnesty and Appleton et al go on to testify as prosecution witnesses telling how Samsung, NEC, Toshiba, Hynix and Infineon conspired to fix prices.

Mark my words, large tariffs and penalties will be put on foreign DRAM imports and MU will come away smelling like a rose with windfall profits. As usually, you and I will pay through the nose for DRAM as everyone rallies around the made in USA mantra.
