Yes, although I don't believe that Phillips has changed one iota from the philosophical underpinnings that he has had since the days he first broke with the Republican establishment with "The Politics of Rich and Poor" in 1991 (as I recall). Rather, it is the Republican Party under the influence of the neo-cons, the religious Right and Bush, Jr. that has completely run off the tracks and is leading this nation into a disaster of epic proportions.

Well, I'm a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but mine differs from yours on Phillips. I believe he was and is a moderately conservative individual who has remained fairly constant in his views. What's changed is the country. He used to fit comfortably within the then Republican Party. But the current party bearing that name is a grotesque perversion of its former self, and Phillips no longer fits.
