Well, I have to admit I finally found a specialist who
actually listened. Actually it was the doctor's assistant,
but she was quite professional & quite knowledgeable. She
spent nearly an hour with me after thoroughly reviewing a
multi-page form I was asked to complete before my
appointment. This was in addition to reviewing all my x-
rays, MRI's, blood tests, etc.

She actually knew that most of my problem was that each
specialist I saw only was interested in things that was in
their area of specialty. They completely ignored
everything else. Their attempts to treat only one thing to
the exclusion of everything else meant I was never going
to get anything completely resolved. If anything, it meant
that some things were going to be further aggravated with
little or no improvement in the one thing they focused on.

Like DUH! I had been saying that all along. How did my
orthopedic specialist expect me to rehab my knee when I
couldn't even stand stationary for 5 minutes without
excruciating back pain? How was I to properly & fully
complete my knee rehab when my Achilles tendon & lower
back would hurt more with each repetition of most of my
knee exercises? What good are prescription drugs that do
little or nothing to reduce any of my pain & swelling?

Now I'm being treated for everything at once in a manner
that will allow for all my problems to slowly resolve
themselves without further injury to any one problem. All
it took was for someone to actually listen & form a
comprehensive plan that gives serious consideration each
problem concurrently.
