f you run into anyone with influence at FA, tell them to publish more of his stuff and see to it he gets tenured well, they've published three pieces of his in two years, one as the lead and the other two in the second slot, so I think they've done alright by him, and he by them... as for tenure, pointing out that Arab support for the Palestinians is more a matter of symbolic politics than anything else and arguing that the Saudi royal family is just as bad as al Qaeda is not exactly the way to win friends and influence people in the Middle East Studies Association. that said, I think he might have a chance... :0) tb@hny.com
