yeah the GDP is starting to get figured out though. Here is Steven Roach's article on it from months ago.

My sense is that the Bush people were thrilled when they saw the 7% GDP, but less thrilled when they saw the 8%, because it exposed all the numbers as a sham. Unfortunately the retailers were predicting a blowout Xmas due to these bad statistics. Jokes on them- imagine a jack in the box popping up with Bush's head on a spring.
