That is an awful story. I hope that the world will be generous and quick with aid for the people of Iran.

How horrible.

I have been amused/angered/distressed/frustrated by the mainstream media's drumbeatfront page emphasis on every single death in Iraq while giving limited coverage to 20,000 deaths in Iraq, and no national coverage at all to the average of more than 40 people every day killed in alcohol-related traffic accidents. It's as though your death only matters to the national media if you're in uniform, not if you're a wife or husband, father or mother, child, family, or whatever killed by a drunk driver.

Which is really of more danger to our population as a whole -- Iraqui insurgents or alcohol? But which gets all the media coverage?
