A person contributes, a person should get something in return.

Kumar, you's confusing investment programs with welfare programs. Social Security is an INTENTIONAL redistribution of wealth. It wasn't designed to be provide a proportionate payout. It was designed to keep retired workers out of poverty via a tax on current workers. We also have 401K programs, a separate government program for retirement. It works the way you say.

Please don't think I'm advocating Social Security. I think it was one of the worst mistakes this country has ever made. But it is what it is and you can't deny its history and turn it into something else.
