Wireless network problem
I recently installed a wireless network for my daughter. She has a computer on the second floor with a cable modem. She got a new computer for her family room on the first floor. I installed a Linksys G wireless router upstairs and a Linksys G USB receiver on the downstairs computer. It generally shows a strong signal 4 bars out of 5 - but sometimes drops lower. The speed seems to follow the signal strength. Sometimes 54M but often 36 and will get very low if the signal strength drops to one bar. If the computer just sits there it seems to hold the connection. As a test I dowmload Adobe Viewer. During the download it will lose the connection a number of times before finishing the download. I can usually reestablish connection by disconnecting the USB receiver and reconnecting it.
Any thoughts on what the problem is. It doesn't seem to be a weak signal.

Thanks and Happy New Year

Alan

shadowman I had tried it for the 10 seconds as recommended. I'll try again for the 60 seconds. I believe that my senders are far enuff apart as both mice are working but I will separate them and move them away from other stuff. I'll keep the thread informed.thanx
