Einstein expressed a similar sentiment , which Hawkings mirrored of an undeniable elegance behind the interactions of the universe , not withstanding a myriad of phenomena on we can only percieve as being very much at random...though I cannot grasp for a minute that you will not accept the birth and death of stars , yet would believe in the biblical story of a star appearing willy nilly out of nowhere above Bethlehem....and that star was most probably a planet we call Jupiter or perhaps Mars. In any case , from out of chaos comes order , and back to chaos order goes, randomly or not to fit your own models.

seeing is believing, little nestling stars observed in formation :

You make comments in your post about natural phenomenon that God ordered that way and say it's existence proves it happened by chance. That reasoning (if it can be called reasoning) makes no sense.

Where did you see in my post that I said the vast interconnected play of forces & processess alive on this planet , from Volcanic/Core/Continental, oceanic/atmospheric , Solar/Biological where all happening by chance? I am as intrigued by the universal tendency among men to personify my experience and impose a certain romantic value upon phenomena as your Hawkings or yourself. Stephen Hawkings may never have danced in his life , but still can fathom perhaps what it is to dance. feel the rush of air past his ears being swung about ,
and be carried away by the Muse.

To talk of the universe as if it were "all" , is to miss out on the greatest part of the show in any case, which is al internal within our own minds. You do believe we landed on the moon i hope ? That was mostly all done on paper first, given the computations and compensations for all variables of newtonian physics , and once concieved we can land a vehicle almost precisely where we wanted it to be . Quite elegant given the distance and forces needed to be precisely imagined and overcome to accomplish . Since it was relatively only a few minutes ago we invented the wheel.

If I were to imagine an utterly vast omnipotent , omniscient force holding it together , I would start by looking at the spaces within microcosm for sure, though, and working its will on out and up into the known . Aswe do know that all phenomena first begins there , at the atomic and subatomic levels, on up . There may be chaos in the universe , but better we focus on the chaos and pressures we create on our own and our societies as we interact and make demands upon the earth. Go forth be fruitful and multiply Syd ? Better be careful of that .

Take for instance the human body which is impossibly complex. The assertion that it happened by chance is so laughable yet the ignorant believe it. Most doctors don't though. They know better

Again , you demonstrate an uncanny ability to not see what another sees , and put words into the mouths of strawmen , of which I am not one for you to try this archaic technique which is fast on the verge of extinction . Where do you see people asserting that such an obviously organized entity as the body and its processes are happening by chance ? Then you jump conveniently and right on queto the "evolutionists" and the billions of years they use to impress .

Tell me syd , you don't believe in those timeframes for life evolving ? Somene's mind is bound for some future rapture , or risk extinction here , and it is not mine. Like those stars being formed in the image i linked you to above , a new perception of man is being also forged and born right before your eyes , though it has been happening now for centuries since the rennaisance . Hawkings may be right about the tendency to disorder in the universe , but we might find that the one thing that is exempt within that observation is the growing human mind , and our sentient species still arising out from many dark ages.
