Re: Diet, Alcohol and Smoking

And let us not forget exercise. Which I just got a bunch of. Shoveling snow off our driveway and sidewalks. Whew, in one stretch, the stuff had drifted to waist deep! I've lived here in Central Oregon for 6 winters, and this is probably twice the snow I've seen here in town ever. We've had about two feet of the most delicious champagne powder fall in the last 72 hours. It's a pity my skiing days are behind me. The skiers and snowboarders must be ecstatic about conditions here at Mt. Bachelor. Three days ago, the heavens opened up and added 42" to the base.

And yes, this was a shameless plug! <gg>

Not to re-open the whole fat debate - OK, I am - but I just came back from an evening at a major Amsterdam concert hall with about 2000 typical Dutch folks, mostly 40-60 with a few younger thrown in.

I didn't see one grossly obese person anywhere. Maybe one in ten were on the chunky side, but compared to a Dallas shopping mall, it's another world.

Good thing Americans can feel safe enough to die a premature death from "normal" unnatural causes.
