Dean still running 20% or more behind Bush in latest polls. That spells not only trouble but doom for Dems unless they can switch gears and nominate a man who can take away a big chunk of Bush's pro-military vote and make Bush look like a relative wimp. Since I believe Kerry is that guy (maybe Clark too) I am increasingly pessimistic about beating Bush.

Story today says much of Dean's base are gays. Terrific. Just what we need. It's true though, since Dean is the most liberal toward gays they generally support him.

However, no votes have been cast yet and anything can still happen. One thing I'm quite sure of now, if Dean is nominated Bush would have to stumble badly to be defeated, and Dean would have to quit saying things that sound pro-terrorism, transform himself and win over millions in the middle. The odds are against both of those things happening. The odds are also sadly against a Kerry-Clark ticket, the one unbeatable ticket. Tyhat's why this is al very disturbing to me. Amnd the life of me, I cannot understand this blind loyalty to dean many have. He's really not that good a candidate and will get creamed by Bush worse than any of them.
