Yup. Well I think at least Worldcom & Sprint were exploring the forerunners to WiMAX but the first generation couldn't meet the target of 90%+ radio link establishment (reports had it closer to 50% for 1st gen). Supposedly WiMAX achieves the 90% - we'll see. I would note that MCI/Worldcom's big chunk of MMDS spectrum was acquired by Nextel for the sum of $144M.
