His gaffes are no big deal. His skills are evident. It is long term views, both fp and dp that concern me. I agree with you--he probably wont be the weakest of the dems against bush and if he can get some party support as he moves to the middle(in itself a difficult task) he may make a race out of it. There are plenty of independents out there who really dont like bush too much either. The key to this is a dean homeland security policy and a dean economic policy that wont be seen as ending tax relief to the middle class. So far nothing on this. MIke

Dean's problem is that his approach has won over the very narrow base of "Far Left" true believers. That may get him the primary, where he only needs that part to get the nomination. But Rove will kill a guy like him in the Majors.
