Trust me, my wifes a teacher and neither the union or the school administation can be reformed without military intervention.<

Not suggesting that we reform either. Throw them out if that's what it takes. If it takes a Constitutional amendment to break the union and that's what needs to be done, then do it. We wasted a lot of time, a whole generation, on this voucher stuff. Are we going to waste another generation on No Child Left Behind? Let's cut the crap and fix it.

Folks who run the public schools should be ed majors either.

When I daydream my "If I were Governor of California" fantasy, one of my actions would be to close down the "Teachers Colleges" in California. Do away with the Teacher's certificate and make the requirement for teaching a four year degree and a year as an trainee. Just about the way you hire recent College Grads for any major corporation.

Stop paying money for additional credits toward a Masters or a PHD and pay extra for the hard to get stuff, like Math, Science, and Special Ed. Very simple. Go to a supply and demand pay schedule, just like all business does.

Oh, yes. And change the Union laws.
