I am not inclined toward stereotyping. I do categorize and label, though. It's the analyst in me. Categorizing and labeling are a key part of analyzing and understanding. To have stereotyped I would have had to apply characteristics inappropriately to a larger group. I did not do that, although I can see how someone reading quickly might infer that. What I did was to identify a group by its characteristics. Not at all the same thing. Not at all a bad thing. Can't say I ever heard the yuppies or the homo sapiens complaining about the practice

I'll admit, though, that my labels can have an edge. The subcategory of Christians that I have labeled "Professional Christians" are among my least favorite people. I can see how anyone fitting in that category would be offended. Stereotyping, however, wasn't in play.
