FL. almost all of those, "speeders <who> start doing crazy
things when they get boxed in" ended up passing me just as
soon as it was safe to move over (or they darted over
first & passed me).

Where you & I differ is that I didn't back down to their
intimidation tactics. I'm not one to encourage such
behavior.

When folks keep a safer distance behind me instead of
tailgating, I will go out of my way to let them pass ASAP.
I won't do that for those who think that intimidation is
OK when they are already speeding & tailgating.

Good rule, FL. I always move right to faster traffic for the same reason.

Houston has some of the worst drivers in the country, in my experience. Real jerks. I swear they don't watch the road any further ahead than the curve of their hood. Definately don't read road signs, and have some compulsion to always get in front of you when merging into your lane, even if the road is completely clear behind you. Then they usually slow down, the fiends. It's really entertaining when some idiot is zooming all over the road, drives right into a box which should have been obvious to anyone looking out 20 feet. Then they get really crazy.

I drive over the speed limit, usually 70 or 75. But I'm not a damn tool, driving like a maniac.
