Wstera, I hate doing business with khadafi as much as anyone but as i understand it, the libyan conversion will be transparent and we are/will be receiving valuable info. Their intelligence service is highly rated and the info we get from them may be a bonanza regarding al quaeda, iran and syria. The old realpolitik game apparently still has legs. National interest is always what it's about--a nations political and economic systems are just one factor to be considered. If the bad guys behave they sometimes get passes that help us in the short term but suck for long term. I have no answer to this conundrum. All i know is that in this case i value the lives of living americans enough in the short run to cut a deal with the likes of momar when verifiable. What do you think? Mike
