<In short, US equities offer limited up-side potential but entail, in my opinion, high risk and should best be avoided.>

I'm as bearish as this guy in general, but I still see opportunities in the stock market, some energy cos. should do well for ex.

I think another good place to look in 2004 is in the water and wastewater services business. China is running out of water just like we are. GRC, AMN, WTS, TII, INSU have solid business opportunities for 20-100 years imo.

And environmental cleanup cos. should do well as some shock and awe sets in as to what we have done to the planet environmentally. for ex. BEL, ECOL, CLHB, DRTK

I am long most of these, and short the NAZ and SP. The hombuilders, mortgage lenders and money changer stocks like big banks are probably shorts of a lifetime imo.

He Of Course Is Correct

As was Keynes when he said (sic) that the markets ability to stay irrational is greater than your ability to stay solvent.

Ild,

Thanks for posting this

Dr Faber's views on 2004

I just finished reading Barron's and was on the verge of being physically ill. Nancy Lazar thinks everything is looking unbelieveably peachy; Art Laffer thinks stocks are "dirt cheap" with PEs really only around 3; and Gene Epstein (who I think must be brain-damaged) sees gobs of wonderful new jobs being created in our future. BAAAAARRRFFFF!
