Since 911, I have come to look upon the Muslims as a bad deal for immigration. The Religion will allow the least integration. And we are at war with them. But no one wants to face up to banning them.

I like to say it is only the "Islamists," but what moderates that do exist are going to build up a hate for us. Our best bet is if they fall away from practicing their religion.

I don't think most Muslims will be a problem. The Wahabbists will eventually drive all but the most co-dependent out of their mosques. Most Muslims in N America don't come from that tradition and don't find it attractive anymore than I find being an old order Mennonite attractive....

The Muslim population in Western Europe is not a good parallel to what happens in N America. There is an active attitude of non-assimilation if not active prejudice by Europeans towards their Muslim populations and they have built a Muslim "underclass" which does not exist here.

Nonetheless, I'd be a lot happier if our two countries sent the Saudi preachers back home, or at least cut off their oil money.

Bad deal for those who adopt the same outlook, I'd say. BTW, remember "separation of church from state" ?

I have lived amongst people practising the muslim faith for more than half my life. they are not the ogres that popular opinion seems to paint them as.

EDIT : Jan 12, one of my muslim friends from India who now lives in PA, has asked me over for dinner. wanna join me for some enlightenment ?
